The Goddess Ceres gives tobacco to Cuba and starts the history of cigars.

Spectacular deeply embossed 26”x21” poster printed circa 1900 by Gebruder Klingenberg for Antwerp, Belgium, cigar maker F. Wyters.

Klingenberg’s President reported, in an 1980’s visit to the U.S., that these gorgeous examples of the highest printer’s art were made in very small quantities for large select European, Cuban and American companies. They in turn gave them to their best customers.

So far, only a few have been reported in the hands of collectors and museums: Cuesta Rey, Henry Clay, and this one.  If you know of another please tell me: <Tony@CigarHistory.info>
