The cigar industry gave away many thousands of different items to induce smokers to try their brand or to reward those who already smoked it. Most were given away or sold for pennies through the mail by cigar manufacturers or wholesalers. A few were given directly to smokers by shopkeepers.  Millions of coupons packed in, or given away with, tobacco products led to smokers getting everything from baseball gloves to horse-drawn buggies the result of catalog redemption. Many of these offers and items are detailed in related Museum exhibits (which you can find linked at the top of this page). Items as big as lamps, stoves and cigar store Indians were frequently given to wholesalers and retailers in exchange for large orders, or for starting to carry a particular brand. This is a sampling of smaller items in no particular order.
