THE MUSEUM

The entire Museum is for sale. It would be great if it could be kept together and things put on public view.  I’m getting along in years and “Breaking Up is Hard To Do” takes on new meaning when I walk through the rooms filled with thousands of rare items that would be impossible to assemble today.

Figures, boxes, and paper may be sold separately. Payment now. I’d ship the figures now, most boxes now, full possession of books and paper ephemera upon my death since I need them to keep adding Exhibits to the Museum. My best guess is there are about 20,000 items, much of that in paper.

BOXES

I’m out of room so hundreds of cigar boxes are for sale.

I bought a lot of boxes because of their historical significance, boxes that I thought should be documented. More than half have been cataloged and photographed. Time for them to have a new home.  I bought auction lots and collections that contained a goodly number of things I didn’t want. Time for them to have a new home. Chuck Tuthill bequeathed me a few hundred boxes. Time for them to have a new home.

OTHER TOBACCIANA

Over time I had passing fancies with other tobacciana, including 100+ ashtrays and 100’s of premium flannels and satins.  I also bought a handful of figures, cutters and lighters, and other things that I wanted to show you because they were part of cigar history. They need a new home.

MUSEUM ATTIC

Over 55 years, 30+ addresses and a goodly number of careers, I’ve accumulated a weird bunch of stuff that needs a new home. For example, as a journalist, I interviewed a professional reporter who supported herself while in UCLA by writing the one serious article in each issue that allowed early girlie magazines to claim redeeming social importance. When she retired she passed on 100 or so of her articles, each in a pristine office copy of 1960’s & 70’s girlie publications by pushy pioneer pin-up publisher Parliament. They need a new home. $10 ea (graphic, available only to those over 18).

This site under construction.

The truth is I’d rather give you more info and pictures
