European cigars and their makers


    This is a section of the Museum that is nearly impossible for me to write because [1] I speak no European language, [2] I have no access to European government records, [3] European laws were not consistent from country to country, [4] a high percentage of European cigars were made not just under government regulation but under government control and [5] two continent-wide wars plus local conflicts of unification have destroyed most records and ephemera.

    European cigar history is and always has been of little interest because of the difficulties described above. It is difficult enough to find information about the U.S., Canada and Cuba. Were it not for the internet this Gallery would not exist.
